Sufi and Folk Poet Yunus Emre, one of the founders of Turkish poetry and culture, was commemorated on the 700th anniversary of his passing at the Yunus Emre with Miniatures Exhibition.
The Exhibition was opened in Tbilisi History Museum under the coordination of Tbilisi Yunus Emre Institute and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University Traditional Turkish Arts Department faculty members, on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Yunus Emre's passing, being included in the commemoration anniversaries by UNESCO. The works of Traditional Turkish Arts Department Asst. Prof. S. Hilal Arpacıoğlu, Lecturers Betül Bilgin, Jahongir Ashurov, and students were displayed in the exhibition.
In the opening speech, the Turkish Ambassador to Georgia Fatma Ceren Yazgan emphasized that this exhibition will strengthen the cultural relations between the two countries. Head of Tbilisi Yunus Emre Institute Ali Oğuzhan Yüksel mentioned that the exhibition shows the humanity of Yunus Emre and these events will build new cultural bridges between the Turkish and the Georgian people.
