The Faculty of Literature's main disciplines are Turkish language, art, philosophic thought, and history; these studies are deeply rooted in Turkish culture and heritage; born of social and individual experiences, events, phenomena, and people in this geography.
The primary goal of the Faculty is to define the historical, literary, sociological, and psychological contexts of these data through the use of scientific methods. To achieve this goal, we draw inspiration from our cultural principles, look at the values of the East and the West, try to understand where our own values stand in human heritage, and make use of a comparative approach that runs parallel to the products of Western and Eastern languages and cultures.

Programs Offered:

Department of Turkish Language and Literature
Examining Turkish Language and Literature texts within their historical and philological context is one of the aims of education in this department. The approach to texts, regardless of their era, is to think of them as an output of a creative effort and to evaluate them accordingly. This attitude manifests itself in a slightly different form in the approach to our students. We think of our students as individuals with unique perspectives and we believe that this is what we should protect and care about the most.
