As part of the 12th anniversary celebrations of the Presidency of Migration Management, a landmark event titled "Türkiye’s Migration Management Model in the Century of Türkiye" was held on April 28, 2025, in Istanbul, bringing together a diverse audience of international students and academic representatives from across the country.

Hosted by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Migration Management, the program welcomed over 50 higher education institutions and was specially curated for international students studying in Türkiye. The event was graced by the presence of His Excellency Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, alongside Minister of Interior Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, Governor of Istanbul Mr. Davut Gül, and President of the Migration Management Directorate Mr. Hüseyin Kök.In his keynote address, President Erdoğan reaffirmed Türkiye’s principled, inclusive, and humanitarian approach to migration. He underscored that Türkiye has always served as a sanctuary for people escaping persecution and adversity throughout history, and emphasized the country’s responsibility to lead with both compassion and strategic foresight in the evolving global migration landscape.

Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University (FSMVU) was proudly represented at this prestigious event by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Turan Gökçe, accompanied by 29 vibrant international students, under the dedicated coordination of the Directorate of International Relations. What made FSMVU’s presence especially remarkable was the colorful and dignified display of cultural diversity, our international students attended in their traditional national attire, reflecting the university's deep commitment to multiculturalism and global unity. Several students had the unique opportunity to interact with fellow participants from other universities, while a few were fortunate enough to personally engage with President Erdoğan himself.FSMVU once again demonstrated its leading role in promoting intercultural dialogue, global solidarity, and international visibility. The participation of our students in such a high-profile gathering not only highlighted the university’s diverse academic community but also showcased its alignment with Türkiye’s broader vision of becoming a hub for global education and migration policy innovation.

The Directorate of International Relations extends its heartfelt congratulations to our student ambassadors and faculty representatives for representing FSMVU with such grace and excellence on this historic occasion.
