FSMVU Strengthens Tunisia Partnership through Erasmus+ KA171

Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University (FSMVU) was pleased to welcome Dr. Nadhem Sayari, Director of Ecole Polytechnique de Sousse, Tunisia, as part of an Erasmus+ KA171 Teaching Staff Mobility. As a long-standing partner of FSMVU in Tunisia, Ecole Polytechnique de Sousse has developed sustained academic cooperation with the University, including collaboration in architecture and related academic fields. The visit provided an opportunity to review ongoing cooperation and explore potential areas for further development.

Strengthening Academic Cooperation

Dr. Sayari met with Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Turan Gokce, where they discussed the long-standing and successful cooperation between the two institutions and opportunities to further strengthen their partnership. During a meeting with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Civelek, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture, the participants discussed ongoing Erasmus+ cooperation and potential plans for the upcoming project period. Dr. Sayari also met with Prof. Dr. Burhanettin Can, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Burcu Bektas Demirci and Dr. Sezer Ozturk, and faculty members. Discussions focused on potential opportunities for student and staff mobility, certificate programmes, and joint research under the newly signed academic cooperation agreement. The visit also included a tour of the Faculty of Engineering laboratories. A further meeting with Prof. Dr. Fatma Gulruh Gurbuz, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, provided an opportunity to explore potential areas of cooperation with ESTIM Business School.

Building on a Long-Standing Partnership

The meetings highlighted the shared interest in maintaining and expanding academic cooperation across different disciplines, building on the strong institutional relationship established between FSMVU and Ecole Polytechnique de Sousse. As part of the visit, Dr. Sayari also visited FSMVU's 555th Anniversary Interactive Museum, where he explored the University's history and educational heritage. The Erasmus+ KA171 Teaching Staff Mobility provided a valuable platform to strengthen the partnership between FSMVU and Ecole Polytechnique de Sousse, while creating opportunities to develop further academic, research, and mobility initiatives in the future.
