Global Recognition for FSMVU at 65th International Quran Recitation Contest

Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University (FSMVU) has proudly marked another international achievement. At the prestigious 65th International Quran Memorization and Recitation Competition held in Malaysia, Muhammet Yahya Yıldızhan, a student of FSMVU’s Faculty of Islamic Sciences, earned third place in the men’s recitation category, bringing honor to both FSMVU and Türkiye.

The competition, which took place between 2–9 August, featured 71 participants from 49 countries. Yıldızhan represented Türkiye in the Quran Recitation category, showcasing outstanding performance and dedication. Adding further prestige to FSMVU’s presence, Dr. Osman Sahin, President of the Quran Review and Recitation Board at the Presidency of Religious Affairs and a member of FSMVU’s Advisory Board, served as a distinguished jury member. The jury consisted of 16 experts from across the Islamic world, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Thailand, Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, Morocco, Iran, and Iraq.

In a ceremony held at the conclusion of the competition, the awards were presented by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, underscoring the significance of this international event. Expressing his delight at the results, Dr. Osman Sahin extended his heartfelt congratulations to all contestants representing Türkiye and emphasized the importance of such platforms in strengthening cultural and spiritual ties among Muslim communities worldwide.
