Strengthening Nordic-Turkish Links: FSMVU Hosts Turku UAS via Erasmus+ KA131

Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University (FSMVU) was pleased to welcome Mrs. Anna Liisa Larkela and Mr. Esa Leinonen from Turku University of Applied Sciences, Finland, as part of the Erasmus+ KA131 Teaching Mobility Program.

Their visit exemplifies the core objectives of the KA131 Erasmus+ Program, which aims to enhance academic cooperation, encourage knowledge exchange, and foster internationalization within higher education institutions across Europe.

As part of their mobility activities, Mrs. Larkela and Mr. Leinonen delivered a well-received lecture titled “Civil Engineering-Geotechnical Applications in Finland.” The session highlighted a series of geotechnical studies, including an innovative research project on the use of excavator clay in construction applications, offering valuable insights into sustainable engineering practices in Finland.

The lecture was held under the supervision of Dr. Sezer Ozturk and Dr. Mustafa Mert from our Department of Civil Engineering, and provided an enriching academic experience for participating students and staff.

This mobility is a testament to FSMVU’s active participation in Erasmus+ KA131 projects, which play a vital role in strengthening institutional partnerships, advancing the internationalization of academic programs, and promoting excellence in higher education. We extend our sincere appreciation to Mrs. Larkela and Mr. Leinonen for their engaging contributions and look forward to further expanding academic cooperation with Turku University of Applied Sciences through future Erasmus+ initiatives.
