Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University (FSMVU) has reinforced its international academic partnerships with a visit to the University of Dar-es-Salaam (UDSM) in Tanzania under the framework of Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Mobility.
During the visit, FSMVU’s Erasmus team met with representatives of UDSM’s International Office, including Director of Internationalization, Convocation, and Advancement, Mr. David Muya. The discussions focused on the implementation processes of the ongoing Erasmus+ KA171 project, as well as on academic recognition procedures for UDSM students who had previously studied at FSMVU. Both institutions also exchanged views on expanding future cooperation and building a stronger framework for sustainable academic collaboration. Following this meeting, the FSMVU delegation engaged with UDSM students Mr. Jonas Kinanda and Mr. Silas Njenje Paschal, who had earlier participated in mobility programs at FSMVU under Erasmus+ KA171. The students shared valuable insights into their experiences in Türkiye, and the discussions helped to assess the outcomes of their academic and cultural exchange.
The visit provided significant contributions to strengthening institutional cooperation and highlighted the shared vision of both universities to advance international academic mobility. FSMVU and UDSM view this partnership as a strategic opportunity to deepen academic bridges between Türkiye and Sub-Saharan Africa. The outcomes of the Erasmus+ KA171 collaboration are expected to yield impact not only at the institutional level but also at regional and global levels, particularly by promoting equal opportunities in education and contributing to social development.
