FSMVU Strengthens Global Academic Partnerships with UNISSA and University of Malaya

On the sidelines of the International Conference on Islamic Moderate Thought and Its Challenges in the Era of Artificial Intelligence (ICONWAT-AI 2025), Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University (FSMVU) hosted a high-level international collaboration meeting with Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) and the University of Malaya, Malaysia (UMM).

Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Simsek welcomed the distinguished delegations, underscoring FSMVU’s ongoing commitment to building strong academic and institutional ties with leading universities worldwide. The UNISSA delegation was led by Rector Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Norafan Bin Haji Zainal and included Prof. Dr. Siti Sara Binti Haji Ahmad, Vice Rector of UNISSA, and Prof. Dr. Mohd Fakhrudin Bin Abdul Mukti, Dean of the Faculty of Usuluddin. The University of Malaya was represented by the Dean of the Academy of Islamic Studies. From FSMVU, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Turan Gokce and Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Ozdemir, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, joined Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Simsek during the meeting.

The discussions centered on exploring partnerships in joint publications, staff and student mobility programs, and collaborative scientific research initiatives. Prior to the meeting, the International Cooperation Office provided an informative session on our Education programs, research strengths, and ongoing international collaborations to the visiting delegation.

This high-level engagement marks another step in FSMVU’s mission to expand its global reach and enhance its academic contributions through international cooperation.
