Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University (FSMVU) hosted a formal academic visit by the International Islamic Waqf Institute (IIIW), a Malaysia-based, non-profit international organization specializing in waqf governance and the development of endowment and donation funds through knowledge-based methodologies. As part of the visit program prepared by the University, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Turan Gokce participated in the activities held on campus. The visit brought together academics and experts from the Arab and Islamic world, providing an important platform for academic exchange and institutional knowledge sharing.

Within the scope of the program, Assoc. In addition, Dr. Faculty Member Tuba Hacer Korkmaz presented on “Waqf Culture and Our University’s Experience in Waqf Practices,” highlighting FSMVU’s institutional experience in waqf-based education, governance, and social responsibility. During the visit, IIIW representatives participated in the scheduled academic program and received detailed briefings on FSMVU’s waqf-based governance model, investment and fund management practices, and community-oriented vision. The primary objective of the visit was to examine the University’s pioneering approaches to the diversification and sustainability of waqf revenues and to explore potential avenues for future collaboration in the field of waqf-based higher education.
