Strengthening Ties with the Turkic World

Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University continues to support initiatives aimed at fostering unity and collaboration in the Turkic world. In this context, Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Şimşek met with Ambassador Kubanıçbek Ömüraliyev, Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), at the organization's Istanbul office. The meeting centered on potential collaborations in education, economy, culture, and arts, demonstrating a shared commitment to deeper institutional partnerships.

Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Şimşek highlighted the importance of strong inter-institutional relations in shaping a shared future. He underscored the University's dedication to producing knowledge, preserving cultural heritage, and advancing academic cooperation, expressing readiness to share FSMVU's expertise with OTS. The meeting was seen as a meaningful step toward enhancing academic and political ties.

Ambassador Ömüraliyev conveyed his appreciation for the University's recent hosting of the “Development of the Organization of Turkic States: Symposium and Photography Exhibition” at the Gülhane Campus. He stressed the vital role of universities in supporting OTS activities and thanked the University's leadership for their contributions. Discussions also focused on strengthening collaborations under the University's membership in the Union of Turkic Universities (TÜRKÜNİB), with an emphasis on joint efforts in education, economy, and culture.
