
As part of the Erasmus+ KA171 project, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University (FSMVU) had the pleasure of hosting Professor Douglas N. Hales from the University of Rhode Island (URI), a renowned expert in Operations and Supply Chain Management.
During his visit, Prof. Hales delivered a thought-provoking seminar focused on achieving operational excellence through Six Sigma management strategies. Drawing on his extensive academic and industry experience, he covered a wide range of topics, including process improvement methodologies, digital twinning, emerging technologies, and the broader opportunities offered through Erasmus+ programs. The seminar drew significant interest from both students and academic staff, culminating in an engaging Q&A session that fostered lively discussion and knowledge exchange. The event concluded with a gesture of appreciation, as FSMVU Dean Prof. Dr. F. Gülruh Gürbüz presented a commemorative gift to Prof. Hales.
This teaching mobility forms part of a broader Erasmus+ KA171 initiative between FSMVU and URI, designed to foster international collaboration in higher education.
