As part of the Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Training Mobility Program, Muhammed Heleli from the International Student Office of Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University (FSMVU) undertook a targeted capacity-building visit to Polytechnique Sousse, one of Tunisia’s leading higher education institutions. The Staff training mobility like teaching mobility plays a crucial role in advancing mutual understanding and practical cooperation on institutional processes. This training mobility aimed to provide in-depth exposure to institutional structures, student services, and internationalization practices at Polytechnique Sousse. Representing Directorate of International Relations, Mr. Heleli engaged in a series of structured meetings designed to collect transferable knowledge and best practices that can be integrated into FSMVU’s own processes and strategies.
He was warmly welcomed by the university’s founders, Prof. Monsef Tajina, Prof. Monsef Bouzidi, and CEO Ms. Boutheina Gharbi, and held an extensive meeting with Dr. Nadhem Sayari, Rector of Polytechnique Sousse. This session focused on student admissions and registration workflows, and also included discussions on potential institutional cooperation, particularly in the Faculty of Engineering. These insights are intended to inform future improvements in our university’s international engagement and academic partnership strategies. Guided by Dr. Amel Rejeb Lassouad from the Faculty of Architecture, Mr. Heleli also toured the campus to observe workshops, laboratories, and student club activities, gaining a deeper understanding of student experience and campus services from an international perspective. Further, a meeting with Sports Coach Aymen Benferdj provided valuable information on extracurricular programming, including social, cultural, and athletic offerings that contribute to student well-being and campus integration insights that are especially relevant to our international student services.
By participating in this KA171 staff training mobility, FSMVU not only reinforced its institutional partnership with Polytechnique Sousse but also invested in the professional development of its administrative staff and the ongoing enhancement of its international operations. This visit reflects FSMVU’s continued commitment to building internal capacity, benchmarking global practices, and contributing to the Erasmus+ mission of international cooperation, development, and mobility in higher education.
