As part of the Erasmus+ KA131 Teaching Mobility Program, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University (FSMVU) was pleased to welcome Dr. Joanna Tokarska-Kozłowska from the Opole University of Technology, Poland.
Dr. Tokarska-Kozłowska delivered an engaging and forward-looking lecture titled "Masdar City Project" at FSMVU’s Department of Civil Engineering, where she was hosted by Dr. Sezer Öztürk. Her lecture focused on one of the world’s most ambitious urban sustainability projects Masdar City in the United Arab Emirates exploring its innovative urban planning, green infrastructure, and the role of renewable technologies in shaping the cities of tomorrow. The session sparked interdisciplinary interest, drawing attention from students and faculty alike who are increasingly engaged in themes of climate-conscious construction, smart city design, and sustainable engineering practices. Her insights helped broaden perspectives on how future engineers can respond to global sustainability challenges through design and innovation.
Beyond the academic exchange, the visit served to further strengthen the institutional relationship between FSMVU and Opole University of Technology, encouraging continued cooperation in civil engineering, research, and mobility opportunities for both faculty and students. This teaching mobility is a prime example of the impact Erasmus+ KA131 brings to Universities enriching academic dialogue, enhancing curriculum with global expertise, and supporting long-term partnerships that drive innovation in education. We sincerely thank Dr. Joanna Tokarska-Kozłowska for her valuable contribution and look forward to future collaborative efforts between our institutions.
