We attended the DAWN Education Expo that was held for two to three days in each of Pakistan’s three metropolitan cities – Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore. The Expo has therefore attracted prospective students from these cities, as well as those from Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Hyderabad.
During our three days stay in Karachi, we visited the NED University of Engineering & Technology on the very first day and met Rector’s PRO Dr. Tufail, and discussed the prospective collaboration agenda. On the second day, we visited Woottech drone company and thoroughly enjoyed their simulations of drones. We signed an internship agreement with them providing the students from both countries an opportunity to learn maximum from the best minds in both institutes. On our third day and fourth day, we welcomed the prospective students, their parents, consultants/agents and entertain their queries regarding ‘Study in Türkiye’ and why to choose Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University. We earnestly relished the interest of visitors at our stall and gave the goodie bags to them as a token of appreciation from FSMVU.
On our first day in Islamabad, we were hosted by Air University which gave us a comprehensive presentation on Air Universities specialties and our possible collaboration. The meeting was hosted by the international office which included respectable Deans of all departments. It was indeed a healthy discussion on future collaborations. On the same day, we visited NUST and met Director RIC Dr. Hammood-Ur-Rehman who gave us a detailed outlook of the internationalization strategy and research focus of NUST. He further agreed to extend cooperation with FSMVU in the field of Architecture, Business, and Engineering. The next morning we have an energetic crowd of students from different schools and universities in Islamabad. Dawn Expo’s Manager provided the token of appreciation and participation to FSMVU. It was house full day at Serena Islamabad. We visited the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Islamabad and also witnessed the Relief preparation from the Pakistani counterpart depicting the love and devotion of Pakistani people for Turkish brethren in the aftermath of the recent Earthquake.
We spent our first two days in the educational expo introducing FSMVU to the enthusiastic students and their parents. We convinced them why Türkiye, Istanbul, and FSMVU. On our third day, we were hosted by the University of Lahore (UOL)’s Rector Dr. Ashraf. The meeting was attended by the Deans of all faculties and we signed the memorandum of understanding with UOL. Meanwhile, we agreed to cooperate on research projects, exchange programs, and joint ventures on innovation and development. All these official visits were followed by the photography session, souvenir exchange, and Hitea.
About DAWN Education Expo
Since its first edition in 2004, DAWN Education Expo has, for 18 consecutive years, brought together prospective students face-to-face with representatives from higher education institutions from around the world. It is the longest-running education fair in Pakistan which aims at bringing universities and colleges under one roof that include respected and mainstream higher education institutes from North America and the UK as well emergent ones in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand, Northern Cyprus, Russia, Türkiye, and the UAE. Further, it also provides a platform for Pakistan’s well knows universities to network with international universities and develop academic collaborations along with attracting national students from within diverse destinations of Pakistan.
