About the Hagia Sophia Campus

Our Hagia Sophia Campus was initially the madrasah, which was built next to Hagia Sophia after the conquest of Istanbul and underwent many repairs over time.  It has also served as a Science Center for centuries. Now it is hosting eight research centers affiliated with Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University named as Hagia Sophia Research Center, Fatih Sultan Mehmet, and Period Research Center, Islamic Arts Application and Research Center, Islamic Law Research Center, Manuscripts Application and Research Center, Foundation Research Center, Evliya Çelebi Studies Research Center, Visual Communication and Design Application and Research Center. In addition to hosting centers that carry out necessary research in their fields, there is a library with publications on cultural history in the madrasa, where cultural and artistic events are held in its courtyard.
